Introduction

Stomatologists like any other doctors of various specialties have to deal on practice not only with their principal work but also with filling in forms, magazines, spreadsheets and other documents, which takes a lot of time, the amount of which is so valuable for practicing doctors. I, as a dentist and simultaneously as a specialist in the field of information technologies needed a uniform patients� registration system. In the development of  such system stomatologists of Russian Military Hospital in Tbilisi helped me  very much. We decided to develop a programme complex, which would facilitate filling in all corresponding documents; which would automatically make up reports (monthly, by the quarter, annually); which would take into account material consumption and which would calculate the time of material consumption on the basis of statistic data of their utilization. Jointly with GTU (Georgian technical University, department of Automated Systems of information processing and control) had been developed the project of the given system, which became my graduation thesis in 1998. 

Research Topic 

Database of dental clinic managing on an example of Russian Military Hospital's (Tran Caucasian Military District) dental polyclinic.  

Research Methodology 

Database is able to save and update data on patients, on their general and local diseases, allergies and other factors, affecting the selection of treatment. The opportunity of fast retrieval and information addition as well as amicable interface allow doctor without any difficulties and deep knowledge of computer technologies store and apply case history, obtain information on existing consumption materials, and this sufficiently lightens work.  

Hypothesis

We expect that upon realization of the given project and application of this program complex to stomatological clinic every dentist  will acquire a �smart secretary� and �electronic filing� and will be able to use necessary for him information rapidly and in time, and store information on the current state of the patient and  carried out treatment. 

Research Results 

An attempt of application of the given system has revealed the necessity of simultaneous introduction of diagnostic system. This resulted in the continuation of developments  in this field.
